vc-version-other-window, does not "respect" UTF-8

It seems that this setting prevents the bug, however I have it
uncommented in my .init file, so there must have been a reason why I
don't use it (always write comments.). BTW, mule 21.4.x and x-symbol
still do not work together smoothly :(, that is why latex always with
non mule.

That does not look like supercite? I am not very pleased with
supercite anymore, so I am looking for a substitute.
