Not mandatory, but two things:

1) The new vc hasn't been around for too long yet, so I'm pretty sure we'll 
find more things as it gets more exposure.  It would have been nice to have 
someone look at vc-hg.el from GNU before release, perhaps to be used as a 
mercurial.el replacement, but nobody has said anything definite about looking 
into it so I guess it doesn't make sense to wait for it.

2) The latest cperl-mode.el upstream sync has reportedly caused some 
fontification regressions.  I've promised to look into it but have not found 
the time, and don't know when I will.  I think it would not hurt to keep the 
new perl-modes package in the experimental area for some time still; OTOH the 
new cperl-mode does have some nice benefits and has worked acceptably well 
for me, so I'm not insisting that it shouldn't be promoted.
