Yes.  But I'm not sure what you mean by "dialog window failure problems"; one 
guess below.

Try with an empty/missing one first, works fine for me that way.  Several 
GNOME users have reported that turning off metacity's "focus follows mouse" 
behaviour fixes it for them.  I can't reproduce the problem at all under KDE.
