Which version of XEmacs?
It would be best if you send a bug report using report-xemacs-bug and
keep a copy of the text you write, to send to the VM maintainer using
vm-submit-bug-report. As described this is evidently a bug in
XEmacs's window management, but VM may wish to provide a workaround
for old versions of XEmacs.
