Getting Can't initialize XIM error message

I've seen this.  I'm not entirely sure what's going on.  I think it
came in with the "modular X distribution" (X11R7); I don't see it on
my Macs which use X11R6.8.1 and X11R6.8.2 respectively.

If you don't need XIM (and you almost surely don't), I think if you
just use --with-xim=no when you configure, it'll go away.
