Getting Can't initialize XIM error message

Hi,

[Resent: Posted just after mail list was lost. Problem is still
there.]

Since a few weeks I'm getting this error message, over and over again
during an editing session.

    "Error: Can't initialize XIM: Can't get fontset resource for Input
    Method"

It has probably(!?) something to do with a X-windows upgrade I did on
my gentoo system lately. But what it is? What resource am I missing? 
Ideas?

Building from CVS so emacs-version is "21.5  (beta27) \"fiddleheads\" (+CVS-20060828) XEmacs Lucid"
