Special operators docs inaccurate

Thank you, Aidan, for updating the manuals.

Anybody with some desire to contribute, feel free to submit patches to
improve the accuracy of the manuals.  Issue #755.  Try to review whole
sections, and mention what you've reviewed in the issue as a comment.

Note that 100% accuracy is not needed; if you can do better than
what's there, please do!

Also, if you don't know exactly what a special operator is *yet* but
what like to help, feel free to ask here.  There's an exact
definition, and it's fairly easy (but tedious) to apply, so the more
eyes and keyboards, the better!
