That URL is wrong; git wants the .git directory:

    http://tleeps1.sk.tsukuba.ac.jp/repo.mirror/Emacs/.git

Just a leetle bit.  I CC'd out after 10 minutes, but I estimated the
unpacked clone would take over 3 hours.  The clone after packing and
pruning the repo took under 9 minutes.  The repo has a very wide pipe,
my local connection is cable and 801.11g wireless.
