I see, since I always used inverse-add-mode-abbrev, I was not aware of
this nifty feature.

I am not sure whether this is connected to the following observation:

 Hallo

inverse-add-local-abbrev

 RET

 Hello

But then hallo is expanded to Hello, but it should not!

Problem is of course that
(lisp-mode-abbrev-table)

"hallo" 1 "Hello"

Instead of

(lisp-mode-abbrev-table)

"Hallo" 1 "Hello"
