Yes, although I've gotten quite a bit of spew in the last few hours
(starting around 12:30 am 10/21 GMT-0700).

Yup.  The menuing code is quite hosed, and much of the problem is by
design.

The only thing I can suggest off hand is to put in a size in the
set-face-font expressions.  The problem may that the menuing code
refuses to match fonts that don't exist in the current size (behavior
which makes sense on legacy X bitmap fonts, but not in a world of
scalable fonts).
