By the way, this is weird. The corruption of your ♥ should have been
eliminated with the just-in-time Unicode allocation you suggested, and your
user-agent line suggest you’re running XEmacs 21.5.28, but nonetheless it
arrived in my spool file encoded as "\xef\xbf\xbd" in C notation.
