I've checked in the configure I generated using 2.59.  autoconf 2.60
probably should be avoided because of the bug in configure --recheck
when it's used.

My apologies for missing your earlier nag.  Teach me to not get
involved in pointless flamewars.  You probably should use a 2x4, it's
unlikely anything less will get my attention... :-(
