ruby modes package very out of date

I'd be happy to do that - but there's one problem - I know nothing of
emacs-lisp.  I noticed in the existing ruby-mode package that there
are a few customisations made to the lisp files for xemacs - I
wouldn't know anything about them.  And fixing bugs would be
challenging, to say the least.

Still, this doesn't actually seem like a very demanding role, so I'd
be willing to give it a go - as long as I had lots of help from other
xemacs users with lisp :-)
