If you send to both xemacs-patches and xemacs-beta, as you did this
post, you will get two copies.  This is a mailing list, not Usenet.
I've also added some people to the membership list so they won't get
moderated (see below).  To the best of my memory I set all such
subscriptions to no-mail at the same time, but of course I could have
missed your setting.

You may also want to use the "not me-too" option if you normally CC
yourself.  All of your settings with respect to delivery options were
lost in the August 28 disk crash.

Changing the "hold non-member posts" policy is not an option at the
moment; there are too many non-member spams getting through the
prefilter to Mailman (and they're those horribly annoying random text
plus image ones).  So unsubscribing will definitely cause delays in
appearance of your posts.  Use the no-mail option, it really does
work.  (That doesn't mean you might not get dupes if something else is
misconfigured, but it's the "something else" that needs fixing.)
