That's what I see too. It seems (just guesses still) that whatever
garbage is outstanding when gc-incremental runs never goes away, even
when the conventional GC runs.

Now to instrument the hell out of mc-alloc. (great name ;) ) and gc.c
so I can get a view of what is actually going *on* here.
