Your C backtrace makes no sense at all; it claims that XIM functions
are defined in the XEmacs sources. Can you try running under gdb to
see if you can get a better backtrace? If possible, setting a
breakpoint on Fget_buffer_window, but I suspect that could be really
painful to get to the point of the crash.

You're using the same GCC (build 1671 vs. 1666) as me, the identical
kernel, I assume you're running a pretty vanilla "Panther" system? A
G4 system or a G5 system?

What X11 libraries are you using? Apple's? (I use X.org.) What Xft
libraries?

The main relevant difference seems to be that I use
--enable-union-type and you don't. You could try compiling with that
switch and see if you get better stability. (Despite Ben's
deprecation of --with-union-type for other platforms, there have been
reports that it gives greater stability on Macs.)
