Something is clearly going wrong with the X headers, and it's not
obvious that it's a problem with XEmacs per se; if it's possible to
point XEmacs at a vanilla X11R6 installation, that would be worth a
try.  (I consider that a workaround, not a fix, until further notice.)

I have access to a Solaris system, I'll give it a try.  Maybe somebody
else who has Solaris can give you pointers, but it's been a long time
since I built on a Sun system so it may be a while for me.
